Squash
Squash
Squash is a fast and furious sport in which you run, leap and dive for the ball, thereby using a huge amount of energy compared to other sports. This makes it very exhausting, however playing it consistently can be fantastic for your well-being.

At Paddington Sports Club, our squash section has two well maintained and heated courts with a viewing gallery and a thriving squash community that provides support, fun and competitive matches for players of all abilities.

Whether you are an experienced squash player, or a newcomer to the sport, we have coaching and playing opportunities for you.

It is also a fantastic sport for youngsters of any age as it helps develop their agility, balance, coordination skills and their competitive instincts.

Our online booking system allows members to view and book courts at their own convenience. Courts are booked in 45 minute increments, with bookings made either online or at the Club.

In just 45 minutes, a game of squash offers the hardest cardio workout you can possibly get. Being an indoor sport also means you can play all year round and are not beholden to the British weather.

Adult Squash
Here at Paddington Sports Club, we pride ourselves on our adult squash community. The Club’s adult squash section caters for a variety of levels from complete beginner all the way to league standard. No matter your age or ability, you will be made to feel very welcome in a relaxed and friendly environment.

With close links to Middlesex Squash, we have two Men’s and one Ladies’ team that represent the Club in both the Middlesex Winter and Summer Leagues. Recent adult team successes include the Men’s first team being crowned Division 1 Winter League Champions for two successive years in 2018 and 2019 (a feat not previously seen!).

As well as booking courts for social play 7 days a week, all our adult squash players are able to participate in a number of exciting drop-in sessions and competitions. We run squash club nights weekly on a Friday and Sunday evening, internal squash box leagues, the yearly Club Championships, and other enjoyable social events.

Both our squash coaches Zeki Muneeb and Patrick Addo are on hand for group and one-to-one coaching sessions. They also offer a racket re-stringing service to ensure you will be on your A-game when you take to the court.

In order to maintain the quality of our squash courts, please ensure that you are wearing non-marking trainers at all times. Any member found wearing the incorrect footwear will be told to exit the court.

Whether you want to get your Squash thrill back or would like to pick up a racket for the first time, there is something for everyone at Paddington Sports Club!

We are now happy to announce that our hugely popular Squash Club Night sessions will resume from Friday 6 August (17:30 - 20:45). Please note, the Club Night sessions will take place twice a week on Friday evenings (17:30 - 20:45) and Sunday evenings (17:30 - 20:45).

Junior Squash
Under the watchful eye of our experienced squash coaches, Paddington Sports Club offers a comprehensive Junior Squash Coaching Programme for children aged from 5 to 15.

Whilst Paddington Sports Club is home to a number of talented junior players at both local and county level, we encourage all our junior enthusiasts to participate in squash for the fun, social and fitness benefits the game brings.

Our programme provides an ideal foundation for all junior players to maximise their individual skills and talent by helping them achieve their personal objectives, with a strong focus being aimed on their technical and tactical development.

We appreciate that for many juniors, playing competitive matches is extremely fun and is a fantastic way of judging progress. Thanks to close ties with Middlesex Squash, Paddington Sports Club is able to offer plenty of opportunities for all our juniors and our coaches can recommend the most suitable competitions to enter.

In order to get more children involved in squash from a young age, in recent years Paddington Sports Club has formed a successful partnership with Essendine Primary School.

Over the years, a number of enthusiastic children from Essendine have been chosen for a scholarship onto the Club’s junior programme. We believe squash is highly underrated in standard sports programme offerings when compared to football and cricket, so we do what we can to get involved within the community.

In addition to taking lessons as part of the termly junior programme, all juniors can book courts for social play with the appropriate junior squash membership.
